Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner | Raymond, NH

The signs are up, the space is remodeled, and the kitchen and bar are stocked. On Thursday, June 19th the new Cork N’ Keg Grill officially opened to the public for lunch and dinner in the Striker’s East Bowling Plaza. The American Pub style eatery will include lots of appetizers and sharing food, an expanded bar area, 35 beers on tap and a large draft list, a great wine selection and regular cocktails, along with root beer on tap. Breakfast and live entertainment are planned for the future.

“It’s a totally different dining experience,” says Vicki Baer, manager and wife of owner Craig Baer. “We’re more of an interactive type of a pub.” Some activities for guests include darts, a shuffleboard table, and big block Jenga.

Baer’s grandmother and grandfather owned the very first diner in Raymond called Etta& Miltie’s, which was located behind where the soon-to-be Mr. Gas is located (formerly Cumberland Farms) on Route 27. Craig Baer has always wanted to own his own restaurant ever since he graduated from culinary arts school.

Co-owners Craig Baer and Shawn Crowley have collectively 60 years of experience in the food industry. Baer was an area director for Chili’s and Crowley was a general manager for Chili’s for many years. “They know a lot about the food industry and the transitions and the cutting edge stuff that we should be working on,” says Baer. “They were both setting up restaurants so they know how to train people. We should have a well educated staff when it comes to the food.”

Recently, Vicki and Craig operated the snack shack at the Seacoast United Soccer Club arena in Hampton and the soccer complex in Epping. They say it was a good fill until they knew what they wanted to do. “It was a good run for almost 4 years and gave us a chance to build some good networking,” says Baer. “All those customers we served there will be coming here. They all know we are building the restaurant and the field is right around the corner.”

So far their feedback has been very positive, with their Facebook page reaching 300 likes in less than 2 weeks and currently at over 1,000 likes upon opening.

Craig Baer and Shawn Crowley will work in the back with kitchen staff while Vicki helps in the front of the house with the waitresses and hostesses to guide and train the staff and take care of customers. The redesigned bar now fits 22 people and has been kept elevated. The front booths are up high so you can see through to the bar and look at the live entertainment. The front area has tall pub tables that can be moved to make a dance floor. Stop in and enjoy!

For an atmosphere of fun and energy!
